Identifying our own\naddictive patterns is a first step toward changing those patterns and\nbeing sober in our recovery. This session offers people an opportunity\nto share their experience\, strength\, and hope about how they defined\ntheir patterns and moved away from acting out. \n12:45 – 2:00 PM Lunch Break\n\n2:00 – 3:15 PM\nSession 2: Working Those Tools. We often use tools to get through\nthe day without acting out. Meetings\, Prayer\, meditation\, phone calls\nwith other fellows\, writing\, literature\, and other tools help us establish\nhealthy patterns for living to get us over the day-to-day struggles with\nour addiction. What tools do you use to support your recovery? This\nsession is about exploring tools of recovery and how people use them\nto strengthen their recovery. \n3:30 – 4:45 PM\nSession 3: Building Healthy Relationships. What constitutes a\nhealthy relationship? As we come out of the withdrawal phase of our\nrecovery we need to learn how to connect with our Higher Power and\nothers in a healthy way. How do we reconcile our existing\nrelationships\, form new relationships\, how do we strengthen our\nphysical\, emotional\, and spiritual connections in a sober way? This\nsession is about strategies for handling difficult conversations and\nstarting new relationships through our new sober lives.\nThis event is open to anyone who identifies as a sex and/or love\naddict or is interested in finding out about recovery from this\naddiction in the S.L.A.A. program. SLAA\noffers tools to achieve that connection such as meetings\,\nsponsorship\, service\, outreach/using the phone\, and\, getting current.\nThis session offers people an opportunity to share their experience\,\nstrength\, and hope of connecting and how that connection changes\nour lives.\n11:30AM-12:45PM\nSession 2: Connecting Through Healthy Relationships. How\nto translate our inner recovery experiences of personal dignity\, self-\nworth and self-intimacy into guidelines to use in relationships with\nothers. Others can be family members\, friends\, co-workers\, current\nor potential partners or casual acquaintances. Discussions about how\nwe connect and form health relationships with healthy boundaries in\nrecovery.\n12:45-2:00PM Lunch Break\n2:00-3:15PM\nSession 3: Connecting with a Power Greater than\nOurselves. A Higher Power can be anything at all that a member\nbelieves is greater than themselves. These may include nature\,\nconsciousness\, God\, science\, Buddha\, S.L.A.A. meetings/groups\, yoga\,\nexercise\, etc. In our active addiction\, for many of us\, our addiction\nwas serving as our higher power. Sometimes we even considered\nourselves a higher power. In recovery\, we instead connect with a\nhealthy power greater than ourselves\, however each of us may define\nthis higher power.\n3:30-4:45PM\nGratitude Meeting / Closing\nThis event is open to anyone who identifies as a sex and/or love\naddict or is interested in finding out about recovery from this\naddiction in the S.L.A.A. program.
