Sex & love addiction can cause so much pain and suffering and sometimes death. What is so\nfunny about that? Many find that by sharing our antics/stories we put a light on just how extreme our thinking/actions can be in the midst of addiction. In recovery we can laugh with each other\, keep things in perspective\, and experience new emotions. This session is about how bringing humor and laughing into our lives has played a part in our recovery and healing. \n1:45 – 2:45 PM\nSession 2: Acting Out/In vs. Recovery. “Acting Out” is to engage in addictive behavior. “Acting In” is to engage in actions that are isolating or withdrawing in nature. Both reflect avoidant behaviors that are harmful to us. Each person in S.L.A.A acts “out” and/or “in” differently\, but with help from a Higher Power\, our sponsor\, and recovering addicts we can move to recovery too. The S.L.A.A. program can help us stay sober and start living a life without active addiction. This session is about how we recognize our addictive patterns and admit powerlessness over them. That allows us to get help to stay sober from our patterns and start living a life of recovery. \n3:00 – 4:00 PM\nSession 3: Recovery: the Promises.  When we are more active in recovery by working the Steps\, some of the promises can start to occur even if we haven’t finished Step 9. DESCRIPTION:View Flyer details here: \nMA-Step-Weekend-December-2024-V3-11.30 \n“11/30/2024 UPDATE– WE ARE CURRENTLY AT CAPACITY AND ONLY ACCEPTING FOR THE WAIT LIST”  \nPlease note\, that as of 11/30/2024 we have hit our Max for the facility- we can not accommodate any new participants.  You will be wait listed if possible but can’t guarantee a spot \nThank you \n……………………………………………………….. \n…………………………………………………………………. \nStep study is a key tool to recovery in the S.L.A.A. program: \nS.L.A.A. 12 Step Weekend Retreat – December 13-15\, 2024\nLa Salette Retreat Center\,\n947 Park St.\, Attleboro\, Massachusetts\n(1 hour from Boston/1/2 hour from Providence) \nAt the retreat weekend we do an intensive study of the 12 Steps–together. If you\nhave worked on the Steps in this type of format before\, you already know its\nvalue. If you have not done any study of the Steps\, intensive or otherwise\, this\nis a great way to do it\, especially the first time. Regardless of where we are in\nthe Step study process\, we can learn from sharing our experience\, strength and\nhope with each other. \nSchedule: Group arrival starts Friday afternoon at 4:00PM. The weekend is\nconcluded on Sunday in time for a 12:30pm lunch (which is provided). Both reflect avoidant behaviors that are harmful to us. Each person in S.L.A.A acts “out” and/or “in” differently\, but with help from a Higher Power\, our sponsor\, and recovering addicts we can move to recovery too. The S.L.A.A. program can help us stay sober and start living a life without active addiction. This session is about how we recognize our addictive patterns and admit powerlessness over them. That allows us to get help to stay sober from our patterns and start living a life of recovery. \n3:00 – 4:00 PM\nSession 3: Recovery: the Promises. When we are more active in recovery by working the Steps\, some of the promises can start to occur even if we haven’t finished Step 9. Identifying our own\naddictive patterns is a first step toward changing those patterns and\nbeing sober in our recovery. This session offers people an opportunity\nto share their experience\, strength\, and hope about how they defined\ntheir patterns and moved away from acting out. \n12:45 – 2:00 PM Lunch Break\n\n2:00 – 3:15 PM\nSession 2: Working Those Tools. We often use tools to get through\nthe day without acting out. Meetings\, Prayer\, meditation\, phone calls\nwith other fellows\, writing\, literature\, and other tools help us establish\nhealthy patterns for living to get us over the day-to-day struggles with\nour addiction. What tools do you use to support your recovery? This\nsession is about exploring tools of recovery and how people use them\nto strengthen their recovery. \n3:30 – 4:45 PM\nSession 3: Building Healthy Relationships. What constitutes a\nhealthy relationship? As we come out of the withdrawal phase of our\nrecovery we need to learn how to connect with our Higher Power and\nothers in a healthy way. How do we reconcile our existing\nrelationships\, form new relationships\, how do we strengthen our\nphysical\, emotional\, and spiritual connections in a sober way? This\nsession is about strategies for handling difficult conversations and\nstarting new relationships through our new sober lives.\nThis event is open to anyone who identifies as a sex and/or love\naddict or is interested in finding out about recovery from this\naddiction in the S.L.A.A. program. DESCRIPTION:View The Flyer here: \nDecember Retreat Flyer\nStep study is a key tool to recovery in the S.L.A.A. program:\nAt the retreat weekend we do an intensive study of the 12 Steps–together.\nIf you have worked on the Steps in this type of format before\, you already\nknow its value. If you have not done any study of the Steps\, intensive or\notherwise\, this is a great way to do it\, especially the first time. Regardless\nof where we are in the Step study process\, we are able to learn from\nsharing our experience\, strength and hope with each other.\nSchedule: Group arrival starts Friday afternoon at 4:00PM.
